Just Au Pairs

In 1996 Hilary Perry joined together with her daughter Samantha, to set up an Agency placing Au Pairs, Hilary already having had 19 years experience previously.

They started the Agency on a kitchen table with one phone and a word processor.?Going through various phone books looking for agents abroad to work with and placing adverts in sweet shops and magazines for families they had soon placed their first Au Pair.?Word soon spread about their services, and two years down the line they joined the International Au Pair Association.?They met with other like minded people setting standards across Europe and the rest of the World.

In 1999 when the UK Government was considering the minimum wage legislation, Hilary was a key person in making sure that Au Pairs were recognized as being part of a Cultural Exchange Programme, living as part of a family and were not to be considered as part of the minimum wage.?Making sure all her host families wrote to their MP's, Hilary meeting with various MP's and making various Broadcasts on TV and Radio.?This was successful and today Au Pair is not considered employment but is a Cultural Exchange Programme.

The business grew rapidly and JUST AU PAIRS now has 4 dedicated telephone lines, dedicated fax line, and a large office with Multi Lingual Staff. (Some of whom were Au Pairs themselves at one time, and have the experience to understand and talk to the au pairs and Host families)?

With Hilary's years of experience and Samantha bringing up 3 children they have an insight as to what exactly is a 'good match' between an Au Pair and a Host Family. In 2003 Hilary was involved in the setting up of BAPAA (British Au Pair Agencies Association), which the UK Government recognizes as an important organization regarding Au Pairs, and Au Pair Agencies.? The business continued to grow, and in 2007 they gained a massive data base of new European Agents and Families, making them one of the largest UK based Au Pair Agencies

JUST AU PAIRS through the year organizes various get-togethers for their Au Pairs, including?advice from the Police regarding personal safety, BBQ, Boat Trips and Christmas parties.?

JUST AU PAIRS are not an internet based agency, All our au pairs come through recommendation from agents abroad - references are checked and each au-pair has to provide up to date medical certificate and police certificate.?Each Au Pair and Family are given a very detailed information booklet.?If an au pair is placed in a family that's where she will spend her time in the UK.?Unlike an internet placement where a girl can accept 19 placements and leave 18 families disappointed!!!!!
